Your data

The readable companion to our privacy policy. The legal document is what counts, but you should be able to grasp the essentials in three minutes.

What Dualove does not do

No exact position shared

Others only see a city and a rounded distance, never the place where you are.

Your conversations are not read

Moderation only opens a conversation if it is reported, and that access is logged.

A full export, in one email

Profile, photos, messages and account history, from the settings, once your address is verified.

A deletion you can undo

Your profile leaves discovery immediately, and you keep a grace period to change your mind.

What is collected?

What you type in (profile, photos, messages), what signs you in (verified phone number or email, devices), and what makes discovery work (your approximate position, your preferences).

Nothing else is needed to run a dating app, so nothing else is asked for.

  • Your profile: first name, date of birth, gender, city, languages, bio, photos if you add any.
  • Your account: phone number or email address, confirmed by a code sent by text or email, and the devices signed in.
  • Your usage: the face-offs you settled, likes, matches, conversations.
  • Your position: approximate, never shared as it is.

How do I get my data back?

From the app settings. A verified email address is required, then a full file is sent to you: profile, photos, messages, account history.

The email check is not there to annoy you: it stops a few minutes with your unlocked phone from being enough to export your entire love life.

And if I delete my account?

Your profile leaves discovery immediately. A few days later everything is erased, and nothing that points to you is left.

That delay exists for one simple reason: a deletion decided on a bad evening should not be irreversible. During that window, you can come back.

Copies kept because of a report stay, even afterwards: they protect the person who reported, and serve nothing else.

Questions about data

Are my conversations read?

No, not in the normal course of things. A conversation is only opened by moderation if it is reported, and that access is logged.

How long is my data kept?

As long as the account exists, then a few days after a deletion request, long enough for you to change your mind. Exact durations are in the privacy policy.

Where is my data hosted?

On servers located in the European Union. The privacy policy details the processors used.

Can I refuse usage statistics?

Yes. Usage statistics can be turned down in the settings, and turned back on just as easily.
