Language is not a filter
In a European city, the people around you do not all speak your language. Most apps hide them from you. Dualove shows them and gives you a button to understand them.
How does translation work?
Every bio and every message you receive carries a Translate button. One tap shows the translation in your app language, under the original text, which stays visible.
Nothing is translated automatically. The translation appears when you ask for it, and you can hide it again. The original never disappears: it is the source, and it is often what says the most about a person.
Translation works both ways: you write in your language, the other person reads in theirs if they ask. Nobody has to proofread themselves in a foreign language.
Why not simply filter by language?
Because a language filter crosses people off before you have even seen them. A spoken language is information shown on a profile, never a reason to exclude someone.
Every profile shows the languages that person speaks: you see straight away whether you share one, and which. If you share none, the Translate button is there.
So there is no language filter anywhere in the app, and there will not be one.
In which languages?
The interface, the emails and support exist in five languages: French, English, Spanish, German and Italian. Message translation itself starts from whatever language the message was written in.
Your profile can declare as many spoken languages as you like, including ones that are not interface languages. They show on your card and help others know how to approach you.

Is translation reserved for Dualove Plus?
No. The Translate button is available to every account, free and subscribed alike.
Are my messages translated automatically?
No. Nothing is translated until someone asks for it. That is a choice: systematic automatic translation flattens the tone of a message.
Does the original text stay visible?
Yes, always. The translation appears under the original message, in its own block, and can be hidden.
Can I filter profiles by spoken language?
No, and that is deliberate. Languages are shown on every profile, but they are never used to make anyone disappear.
