Safety and moderation
A dating app puts strangers in touch. Here is what Dualove puts up against that risk, without promising the impossible.
Who can sign up?
Adults only. Date of birth is asked at sign-up, and an account declared as underage is closed immediately and its data deleted.
That is the one case where an account is truly erased rather than stripped of its name: a minor's data has no business staying with us, name or no name.
What happens when I report someone?
Messaging stops in both directions while the report is reviewed, and a frozen copy of what you reported is kept as evidence, even if the person deletes it afterwards.
You pick a reason, you can add a comment, and the report goes to a human team. You do not need to block the person as well: the report takes care of that while it is handled.
The reported person never learns who reported them.
- Block: cuts all contact, permanently, both ways. They disappear from your discovery and you from theirs.
- Report: sends the case to moderation, with a frozen copy of the content concerned.
How are photos moderated?
Photos are visible as soon as they are sent, then reviewed. A removed photo disappears from both sides of the conversation, and moderation can sanction the account that sent it.
Moderating after rather than before avoids making everyone wait for the behaviour of a minority. It comes with fast handling of photo reports.
What if an account is sanctioned wrongly?
Any sanction can be appealed from inside the app. The appeal is read by a person, and a wrong decision is lifted.
Sanctions range from a warning to a temporary suspension and then closure, depending on severity and repetition.
What Dualove will never do
Ask you for money to be "verified", send you a marketing notification, or ask you for a password or payment details in a message.
Nobody from the team will ever contact you inside a conversation in the app. A message claiming otherwise is a scam attempt: report it.
Questions about safety
Does the person I report know about it?
They are told about a measure concerning them if moderation takes one, but never who reported them.
Can I unblock someone?
Yes, from the blocked accounts list in the settings. A block is not irreversible, but it never lifts on its own.
Can my photos be seen outside the app?
No. Your photos only live inside the app, for the people who discover you. They sit nowhere on the open web, and a copied link does not open anywhere else.
What should I do before a first date?
Pick a public place, tell someone close where and when, and keep your own way home. Our safety tips cover the rest.
